Product Overview
The FRDM-BC3770-EVM is a Freedom Expansion Board offers a fully programmable switching charger with dual-path output for single-cell Li-ion and Li-polymer batteries. It works with the FRDM-KL25Z development platform (included pre-programmed with mini-USB cables). A BC3770 highly integrated synchronous switch-mode chargers, featuring integrated OVP and power FETs. A FRDM-KL25Z for SPI communication and IO control. Operate as a boost regulator for USB-OTG function via either I²C command or an external pin from the host/processor. This dual-path output allows mobile applications with fully discharged battery or dead battery to boot up the system.
- Supports different modes of operation (charging and power management)
- Dynamically shares current between the application and battery on demand
- Reduces heat dissipation and allows for higher current capability for a given package size
- Includes protection features to avoid damaging the downstream components
