PIC16F688-E/P is a 14-pin flash-based, 8bit CMOS microcontroller with nanoWatt technology. It offers all of the advantages of the well-recognized mid-range x14 architecture with standardized features including a wide operating voltage of 2.0-5.5volts, onboard EEPROM data memory, and nanoWatt technology. Standard analogue peripherals include up to 8 channels of 10-bit A/D, an analogue comparator module w/ programmable on-chip voltage reference and an Enhanced USART (EUSART) peripheral that supports communications protocols such as RS232/485 as well as the LIN protocol.

- Supports RS-485, RS-232, LIN 2.0/2.1 and J2602, auto-baud detect
- Programmable code protection, high-endurance flash/EEPROM cell
- In-circuit serial programming™ (ICSP™) via two pins
- 7KB program memory size, 5 CPU speed (MIPS/DMIPS), 1 x 8bit-1 x 16bit timers, 1ADCs, 8ADC channels
- Temperature rating range from -40 to 125°C, voltage rating range from 2 to 5.5V
